History of execution in Türkiye

In Turkey, the death penalty has been abolished for nearly 20 years, but still occasionally some politicians and a part of Turkish public opinion demand its return. In this report, Mehdi Shabani, in a conversation with Ramzan Demir, one of Turkey’s most famous political lawyers, who was also the lawyer of Salahuddin Demirtaş and Abdullah Öcalan, explained the long history of executions in Turkey.
